Radish

Open Pollinated Radish's, if planted around the perimeter of each garden crop (beans, peas, cucumbers, eggplant, squash, melon, and tomatoes) act as a strong deterrent to flea beetles, striped cucumber beetles, and two spotted spider mites. Radishes can also be used as a trap for root maggots that bother onions. Simply plant radishes near onion rows; maggot infested radishes are then pulled and discarded. Because open pollinated radishes are a quick garden crop, they are ideal for marking garden rows by interplanting with slow growing garden crops such as carrots, beets, spinach, and parsnips.
