85-115 days       Introduced around 1890, this old a variety still holds it's popularity with gardeners. Sometimes mistaken for the variety "Catskill", introduced in 1941, the two are similar but not the same variety. Long Island Improved Brussels Sprouts are semi-dwarf plants, producing many closely set, tight, firm, dark green, 1-1½" sprouts on a 20-24" stem. Freezes well. They taste great roasted with other vegetables, hearty meat or sausage. Also, nice chopped up fine and used in salads or coleslaw.
