A melon that will please the whole family with it's deliciously sweet flavor and ultra smooth texture, perfect for those who don't like the grainy texture of most melons. The Crenshaw Melon produces large 8-10 lb. fruits, green skinned, turning to yellow-green at maturity, with a lovely salmon colored flesh. Very vigorous vines. Hales Best Jumbo (Hale's Best Original, Hales Best Jumbo #936, Hales Jumbo) (Cucumis melo) 85 days. A true favorite that old timers swear by. Hale's Best Jumbo Melon is a great early cantaloupe, with very thick sweet flesh, and a small seed cavity, giving you the most melon for your money and your work! The exterior is heavily netted, and the salmon colored interior flesh is rich in flavor. Introduced over 80 years ago this cantaloupe has truly stood the test of time with prolific vines producing large 3-5 lbs. melons. Drought resistant, does well in many growing conditions. Honeydew, Green Flesh (Honeydew) (Cucumis melo) 105-115 days. The high sugar content of this melon makes it ones of the sweetest melons around. The Green Flesh Honeydew Melon is a beautiful melon with a smooth creamy white rind, and lime green interior flesh. Melons grow to 7-9" long and 5-6" wide, weighing 3-6 lbs. Honey Rock (Sugar Rock) (Cucumis melo) 80-88 days. An old-fashioned favorite, 1933 winner of the All-American Selections Award, holding it's popularity with gardeners to this day. The Honey Rock Cantaloupe produces 5-7 fruits, 6" in diameter, weighing 2-3 lbs. Melons Are coarsely netted on the gray-green rind, with a very sweet salmon orange interior. Honey Rock is said to be a result of a cross between 'Champlain', 'Irondequoit' and 'Honey Dew' and was introduced by Watt Richardson of Ohio in about 1920. Iroquois (Iroquois Extra Select, Giant Early Wonder) (Cucumis melo) 75-90 days. This attractive, early-maturing melon is perfect for market gardeners. With it's heavy netting on deeply ribbed gray-green skin, the Iroquois Cantaloupe is not only delicious, but also beautiful on display! Rind is tough, holding up to bumps and jostling more, perfect for transport to Farmer's Market, or the busy gardener's fast paced harvest. Melons grow to 6-7" in diameter and weigh in at 5-7 lbs. Minnesota Midget (Cucumis melo) 60-75 days. Bred by the University of Minnesota in 1948 specifically for shorter growing seasons in the northern regions. The Minnesota Midget Melon is an extra early variety, with compact vines perfectly suited to the small garden, some have even reported them to do well in large containers. Small fruits are approx. 5-6" in diameter, and weigh 13 oz - 1 ½ lbs. Thick golden-yellow interior flesh is delicious and sweet, edible to the rind. Tolerant to Fusarium wilt and cool nights.
