Heirloom Open Pollinated Ground Cherry

60-80 days       This close relative of the tomatillo has a delightfully tropical taste, sweet, with a pineapple like flavor, a favorite among children. Ground Cherries are delicious fresh, but also are great in pies, preserves, hot dessert toppings, and even in salads, or on pizza for those who like pineapple on their pizza!

Caution: Do not eat immature Ground Cherries as they are poisonous, containing the same compound as green potatoes, also dangerous to eat. Both are of the nightshade family. Wait until papery husks turn light tan in color to eat Ground Cherries.

Heirloom Open Pollinated Purple Tomatillo

68 days       Makes a very attractive purple salsa. The Purple Tomatillo plant is also very attractive, with purple veins in the leaves, and light green to buff colored husks on the tomatillo themselves. This variety has a sharper flavor and is sweeter than the green tomatillo.

Heirloom Open Pollinated Toma Verde Tomatillo

60-70 days       This popular tomatillo is known to make a very tasty "Salsa Verde", which some say is superior to red salsa. The Toma Verde Tomatillo is adapted to grow well in a wide range of climates, growing quickly and giving good yields of large green tomatillos.
