Broad Windsor Fava Bean - Non-GMO, Non-Hybrid, Untreated Heirloom and Open-Pollinated Bean Seeds Broad Windsor (a.k.a. English Windsor Broad, Broad Pod Windsor, Horse Bean) (Vicia faba)
65-75 days.      Upright, strong, and tall 2-4' plants produce good yields broad, 1" wide pods, 6-8" in length filled with very large beans (often as big as a U.S. Quarter Dollar coin). The Broad Windsor Fava Beans have a flavor that is similar to a blend of limas and peas, but are more nutritious than limas. One of the tastiest of all dried beans. Delicious at the shelling stage, takes well to a variety of herbs and spices. The best of both worlds for those who love gardening and cooking. Pick beans at 2-3" for snap beans. From Virginia northward, favas are planted in the spring, whereas in Gulf Coast states and warm coastal areas they may be planted from October to December for harvest in March. Cold hardy to 12° F.
