Sending our greetings, and hoping you've had a great summer, so far! We're busily harvesting many of our veggies right now, enjoying the wonderful bounty of Summer. Isn't gardening such a joy?

A great reminder at this time of year is the tip to pick early, and pick often. In general, veggies taste better when picked young (think zucchini, green beans, peas, lettuce, etc.), and you get more of a harvest if you harvest often. Have too much bounty coming from your plants? Why not host a Garden Harvest Party, sending home a bit of fresh heirloom vegetables with your helpers who come to assist in the harvest, and top it off with a hamburger grill out, or an Ice Cream Sundae Bar. To get the kids to help in the garden why not promise a run through the sprinkler or a dip in the pool after helping harvest all the vegetables or weed the garden?
