True Red Cranberry (Phaseolus vulgaris) 95 days. Dry Bean Once very rare, the True Red Cranberry Bean was long sought after by bean collector, John Withee, who was inspired to seek this wonderful dry bean variety out when he read about it in a gardening encyclopedia from the 1700s. He finally obtained it, after an 11 yr. search, from a Mr. Taylor of Steep Falls, ME. This variety is plump and round, with a dark red complexion, looking like real cranberries, unlike the bush cranberry varieties, which are oval and speckled. One of the oldest varieties we offer. Does well even in cool, short growing seasons. Item No. BpTRC Out of Stock - Crop Failure |
