Broccoli is available all year but it’s best right from your garden in the fall. Choose Broccoli with tender but firm stalks and tightly closed green flowerets, with no yellow color evident. Harvest by cutting the head from the stalk with a knife. Every few days, harvest the side shoots to extend the harvest. Store for 4 to 5 days in perforated plastic bags in the refrigerator.
This part is really important!
