(Lycopersicon lycopersicum) 70-78 days      These are our favorite cherry-type tomato, hands down! Highly productive, vigorous, and sprawling indeterminate vines set forth loads of clusters of sun-gold yellow 1 x 1 1/4″ plum-shaped tomatoes. The Yellow Plum Tomato is mild and sweet, making excellent preserves, and delicious fresh off the vine, a perfect addition in salads, adds great color to a vegetable tray, too. Long-bearing, continuing until it frosts. These delicious gems are like a bit of sunshine with a delicious, sweet, tomato flavor like a bit of heaven on earth!

Planting Instructions for Yellow Plum Tomato Seeds

Start Yellow Plum Tomato seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date. Plant the Tomato seeds ¼” deep in sterile seed starting mix. Germination occurs in 6-14 days in soil 70-90°F. Once true leaves develop, separate Heirloom / Open Pollinated Tomato plants into 3-4″ pots, placing in full light & cooler temps (60-70°F). Set out hardened off Yellow Plum tomato transplants, in full sun, once soil has warmed, 18-30″ apart, in rows 3-4′ apart. Plant tall, spindly Tomato seedlings deeper, the stems will sprout roots and support and strengthen the plant. To help prevent blossom end rot, put 1 Tbs of lime, ground oyster shells, or crushed eggshells at the bottom of your planting hole. The calcium will help build strong cell walls once your heirloom tomatoes plants start producing fruit. For strong Yellow Plum tomato plants, add 1 Tbs of aged compost and 1 Tbs of bone meal to the bottom of the hole as well.
