Dwarf Grey Sugar
Days to Maturity: 60–70 Days
First offered in 1892 by D.M. Ferry & Company, Dwarf Grey Sugar is a cold- and heat-tolerant heirloom dating back to the 1700s. Compact, bushy plants grow 12–24″ tall, with soft pink and purple flowers followed by sweet, curved 2–3″ pods. Light green and stringless when young, the pods stay tender as peas swell. Strings may develop as they mature, but you can snap and de-string them like string beans. Harvest early for snow peas, or let them mature for snap or dry use. This multipurpose variety is great for stir fries, salads, soups, freezing, or harvesting as tender shoots. High in vitamins A, C, and K, plus folate, Dwarf Grey Sugar is dependable, versatile, and disease resistant addition to any garden!
