Mizuna Green Microgreen Seeds
To grow microgreens outdoors, prepare the bed as usual, then sprinkle seeds evenly and closely over the soil surface. Lightly cover the seeds with soil and water gently each day. For indoor growing, gather containers such as seed-starting flats or clean food containers. Prepare the soil or seed-starting mix and fill containers with 1–2 inches of it. Evenly and thickly sprinkle seeds over the soil, then lightly cover them with a small amount of soil and press down gently. Water lightly using a mist or spray bottle to prevent soil from washing away. Cover the container with a transparent lid and place it near a window (preferably south-facing) or under fluorescent grow lights.
Mizuna Green Microgreen Seeds germinate best in a room temperature of 65–75ºF and a soil temperature of 75ºF. Germination occurs within 4–20 days, depending on the variety. A heating pad or grow mat can be used to maintain soil warmth until germination. Mist the soil with water 1–2 times daily to keep it moist until harvest. Once the first two or four leaves have grown, microgreens are ready to harvest. To harvest, cut the greens just above soil level, rinse, and enjoy fresh!
