Cream together until light and fluffy:
- 1/2 cup shortening, butter or margarine.
- 4 cups sugar
Add:
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup pumpkin
Stir in dry ingredients until well blended:
- 4 t. salt
- 2 ½ t. cinnamon
- ¾ t. nutmeg
- ¾ t. ginger
- 4 t. baking powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
Stir in:
- 1 cup raisins or dates
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for approx. 15 min. Yield 4 doz. Can be frozen
